Hi GURUS,

I need help in extending an IDOC..i have not worked on idocs before...So could you please guide me in doing this task...

This is with respect to Shipment..the detaisl wat i have is..

SHPMNT05 Basic type, ZSHPMNT_STS Extension and ZSHPMNT_STATUS Mmessage type..

Please help me with the steps for doing this not with the links..

Good answers wil surely be rewarded..

Hi,

1. Goto WE30, give your extension name " ZSHPMNT_STS " , select extension and click on create.

2. Select create new, give your basic type " SHPMNT05 " and description.

This is how you extend your IDOC. Here you can select your segment and click on create and insert any custom segment at any level you want. Custom segments can be created in WE31.

Custom message type is created in WE81.

Link your message type to your basic type and extension in WE82.
