How to send the SAP SCRIPT form to Email as attachment of PDF?

Former Member

Hello everyone...

I need a suggestion/solution for the problem explained below.

i have just created the custom form thru the program which will accept the input parameters to print the form.

i need to send this form to Email as an attachment of PDF with the help of spool number or the Form data.

Please let me know the sample logic to achieve this.

Thanks in advance

Madhu

You first need to get the OTF code from the sapscript.

Then you should pass this to the email-function module.

REPORT Zscript_mail.

Here is a sample program.

DATA: ITCPO LIKE ITCPO,

TAB_LINES LIKE SY-TABIX.

  • Variables for EMAIL functionality

DATA: MAILDATA LIKE SODOCCHGI1.

DATA: MAILPACK LIKE SOPCKLSTI1 OCCURS 2 WITH HEADER LINE.

DATA: MAILHEAD LIKE SOLISTI1 OCCURS 1 WITH HEADER LINE.

DATA: MAILBIN LIKE SOLISTI1 OCCURS 10 WITH HEADER LINE.

DATA: MAILTXT LIKE SOLISTI1 OCCURS 10 WITH HEADER LINE.

DATA: MAILREC LIKE SOMLREC90 OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.

DATA: SOLISTI1 LIKE SOLISTI1 OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.

PERFORM SEND_FORM_VIA_EMAIL.

************************************************************************

  • FORM SEND_FORM_VIA_EMAIL *

FORM SEND_FORM_VIA_EMAIL.

CLEAR: MAILDATA, MAILTXT, MAILBIN, MAILPACK, MAILHEAD, MAILREC.

REFRESH: MAILTXT, MAILBIN, MAILPACK, MAILHEAD, MAILREC.

  • Creation of the document to be sent File Name

MAILDATA-OBJ_NAME = 'TEST'.

Hi vasu

i want to explain little more so that u can understand.

Iam using a Report in the Dialog program like below

SUBMIT zpr WITH parameters to print at the desired location and return.

in the zpr program iam creating the form using sap script.

Requirement:

Now i have to get the form which is just created thru the report zpr in the form of PDF and send to Email as pdf attachment.

iam guessing here we can use the spool number to achive the requirement.

please get back to me if you need the clarification and send me the sample code or suggestions for the solution.

Thanks

Hi vasu,

Your code is really helpful ....

instead of OTF code from the sapscript.... is there anyway to pass the spool number to convert to pdf directly?

iam guessing its CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to get the pdf format from script format and then send the email using email attachment.

my program creates and prints the form at the user location where we give the parameters to the program.

you were very close to my requirement so please go thru the reply and send me your idea to proceed further.

Thanks

Much simpler is to define a PDF EMAIL printer. There are some limitations, but the print dialog for this in ECC6 at least allows the email address to be specified directly and then sends it.

Hi,

Check these,

Have a look at the thread https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/search.sdn?contenttype=url&content=https%3A//forums.sdn.sap.com/search%2...

See also https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/collaboration.sdn?node=linkFnode6-1&contenttype=url&content=https://

There is also this excellent weblog by Thomas Jung.

/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/08/sending-e-mail-from-abap--version-610-and-higher--bcs-interface

Try to use the below function modules to convert report to PDF

CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF( convert abap spool output to PDF )

or

CONVERT_OTF ( Convert SAP documents (SAPScript) to other types )

The below function modules are used to send the pdf format as EMAIL.

SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1

or

SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1

Hope this helps.
