Transaction is the combination of, screen and the program.

It should be the interact able with the user, i.e 2 way interaction should be there.

when u run the transaction, It should allow you to give the input. based on that input, It should display the output.

SE93 is the Transaction code used to create the transaction codes.

while creating the T-Code, U are supposed to specify, Program name and the screen.

Screen can be normal screen or selection screen.

In SAP, Using transaction codes only, we do process the things.

SAP supports the Transaction codes. All other systems work based on the menus or tree options.

Transaction code is used to call all the process in SAP. SE93 is to create the trasaction code.

Transaction codes are nothin that it helps you to navigate through the different screen where transaction takes place...

let me giv you the basic Tcodes which is essential...

se38-ABAP Editor(reports)

se80-ABAP Workbench(creating module pools,reports,forms,etc)

se11-Data Dictionary(refering tables)

se14-Database utility

sm30-Table Maintenance

ST05-Sql Trace

ST22-shortdump(failure queries are stored)

se37-Function Modules

sm35-Background processing

se39-Split screen

se71-Sap Scripts

these are the basic transaction codes...
