what is the diff betwen customer exit and userexit?

how to find out userexits?

for user exits you need access key. they are some special subroutines in between form and endform you have to write code for this you need access key.and user exits are exclusively for SD module only.to find out all USEREXITs goto SPRO.User exits start with USEREXIT_<something>. for access key you have to contact SAP people.where as for Customer exits no need of access key.

Customer exits are provided to the customer in the form of Function Module which holds the include in the customer namespace.The user can add his/her own source code in it.This is technically an enhancement.Eg for customer exits are Function module exits,Menu Exits,Screen Exits.

User exists are empty subroutines that the SAP Developers have provided for you that u can fill with your own source code.This is technically a modification since the object in the SAP name space is modified.

To find out the exits :

Look at SMOD Transaction or MODACT ,MODSAP Tables

create one program at se38 -> paste below code -> execute -> enter any transaction code in selection-screen,then it display the exits name.
