excel date format

Hi,

when i am downloading to excel , the date is coming like 20081029 where as in alv format it is like 10/29/1008. what can i do?

Hi,

Select the column in the excel sheet in which date is displaying and right click and select format cells. There in the category column, select the date and choose the format in which it should appear.

tried that way, but in vain . anyways , i need it to be solved programatically

Hi,

Convert the date in YYYYMMDD into the user date format..using the below FM:

CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_PDATE_OUTPUT'

Is it showing the date format correctly using Excel in place?
