Display Custom Message when button in standard menu clicked

hi all,

i am stuck with the problem in alv grid,

that if a user chooses a column SAY MATERIAL NO. and click on SORT IN ASCENDING ORDER, of the standard SAP menu

before the button functions, a custom message should popup SAYING ' FIELD MATERIAL NO. GETTING SORTED' and closing the popup box, will result in finishing of the procedure and displaying the SORTED NO.

please help me out or give a sample code
