SAP Business One 8.8 and Add-ons permission issues

Hi guys,

I have a problem related to recently migration to SAP B1 8.8 versus permissions/environment.

To Install the product on the client machine I have to right click on the setup and run as administrator, after that the product loads OK and the Addon install Ok too, but ONLY If my user is already Administrator AND the UAC (User Account Control) is disabled.

After that If I remove the administrator permission or if I raise the UAC bar it keeps asking to uninstall and then Install the Addon.... So the Addon doesn't work and to solve I have to keep the user admin and without UAC.

My first question is related to UAC. Does it works with that version? (I mean: Windows 7, UAC turned on and SAP B1 8.8)

My second question is about administrator permission. How can I run that version without admin privileges?  Besides the Windows 7 we have Terminal Services and on TS is impossible to turn the UAC or keep some users administrators (they could turn the server down).

Last but not least, "where" do I have to give permission to users (standard or power users) to run SAP without admin privileges?

I have no problem if only at the moment of installation I have to use the admin user or right click and the respective administrator credentials, but sounds weird after everything is OK the product keeping trying to install the Addon every time we launch the .exe.

I appreciate if someone could help me.

PS: Before the migration everything ran OK, no admin. users and UAC on default mode.

Thanks,

Rodolfo Ferreira

Rodolfo,

Usually what I do is the following .. Enter a user with Administrator privilege and turn off UAC, after that do the installation of B1 and AddOns then can now be enabled UAC and enter a normal user. but whenever you need to update the add-ons must be logged in with a windows user with appropriate privileges.

Hope Helpful

Rodolfo,

Also check the access rights of the user correte within the directories:

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ SAP

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ SAP \ SAP Business One \ AddOns

Change the level of privilege "Run as administrator"

Marcelo,

I'm going to try these options on Monday morning and then I'll return here.

Just one more question, do you have any experience on Terminal Server 2008 R2 environment or should I use the same procedures?

Thank you very much for your time,

Rodolfo
