Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised.

Hello All,

Need your help ....... !!!!!

We are getting a dump when we are downloading a file from the Portal and trying to save it in EXCEL on the desktop.

  • This issue is not coming from SAP GUI.
  • Also no errors coming when i am downloading it from Web GUI via SICF tcode.
  • And also not coming from the ITS page .

Please find below the error screen shots from excel.

  • Before the dump occurs its give a popup " The standard system certificate was not readable contact your System administrator".
  • And finally give a Dump  Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised.

    Please do a dump analysis to find the exact cause. As mentioned in screenshot it "CNTL_error" is a exception. Try to find the reason why it is getting raised.

    Also check if there is java mismatch between desktop plugin and portal.

    Can you paste the source code part of ST22 dump?  It might help in answering your issue.

    This is due to the setup of the sapcryptolib.

    Ensure that it is in your executable directory and the instance parameters are in place. Need to be setup on you ABAP stack that is connecting to your portal via ITS. I just install it on all systems to avoid issues.

    Note 510007 should help. check your dev_icm log for details to ensure that the sapcrypto loads correctly.

      Hi Akhilesh,

      Has anything changed on your backend system recently?  Like maybe a new kernel?  Do you have access to transaction smicm? If you do, you should see all the ports as active.  If they are not active you can try and activate them.   I expect you will see the CTRL_ERROR when attempting to activate them.  I had kind of a similar situation and it was resolved.  In our case, we had included a kernel update in a Software Update Manager, SUM.  This creates a file called icmbnd.new.  On AIX it is located under /usr/<SID>/exe or /sapmnt/<SID>/exe.

      AIX Commands:

      cp icmbdn.new icbnd

      sudo ./saproot.sh <sid>  ###:"Yes, lower case."

      Go back to transaction smicm and do a global soft restart.  You should see all the services as active and no more CTRL_ERROR.

    My client has faced the same issue yesterday and then later on it came to that he tried to kick off two jobs same time with same job name.

        A RAISE statement in the program "CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER=======CP" raised the

         exception

        condition "CNTL_ERROR".

        Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior

        program, processing was terminated.

        Short description of exception condition:

        For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use

        Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called

        function module from the display of active calls.
