Reinstalling WAS

Hi all,

We have SAP CRM System with WAS6.20.I have some queries regarding the wa server.

1.Is it Possible to have two WA servers on the same system(was 6.2 and was 6.4 in different drives)

2.can we have WAS installed on a seperate machine and connected to the sap crm system. If it is possible where do we need to make the settings.

3.If I want to upgrade the existing WAS(6.2) I'm told that we need to take back up of the existing system. Is it mandatory?? is there any other feasible solution.

can someone guide me on the above queries?

Thanks and regards,

Vijaya sai.v

    Hi Vijayasai,

1.Is it Possible to have two WA servers on the same system(was 6.2 and was 6.4 in different drives)

Answer: yes,but the system configuration has to be very good, also the RAM has to be very large.

2.can we have WAS installed on a seperate machine and connected to the sap crm system. If it is possible where do we need to make the settings.

Answer: yes,but during the CRM installation, you have to give the details of the WAS ,which is already installed.

    3. If I want to upgrade the existing WAS(6.2) I'm told that we need to take back up of the existing system. Is it mandatory?? is there any other feasible solution.

Answer: Yes,taking a backup is always good practice.

you can do it without backup also, but during upgrade,if something hapens, then you cannot revert back to the original state. So,back is good.

    I hope I helped you.
