block some quantity of a material on the behalf of reservation

Hi all,

I have created a Maintenance Order & on the behalf of that maintenance order I have created a reservation of a material for a certain qty i.e. 3.

The material has a unrestricted stock of 4.

In MMBE txtn, system is showing unrestricted qty is 4 and reserved qty is 3.

Now if suppose i want to with draw material by MB1A Txtn (MVT type 261), i can withdraw the material(qty =3) on the behalf of reservation number.

But when I am going to MB1A Txtn with MVT type 201, for the qty 4(with out reservation number i.e. normal withdraw of a materiel), the system is allowing to withdraw all the 4 qty.

Can i restrict the system that user cannot withdraw the material if the withdraw qty (by mvt type 201)  is greater than reserved qty.

I want to do the above same because i want to reserved/block certain qty of a material on the behalf of reservation for the future use so that nobody can issue qty greater than reserved qty(by mvt type 201)

you have to customize the dynamic availability check and use it for your goods issue movements.

If this check is active SAP would only allow to withdraw 1 from the 4 as 3 are already reserved.

Hi,

What you have explained above is the std. SAP behaviour.

When you say reservation in SAP, it doesn't mean the normal reservation which relates to blocking something.

So in order to meet your objective, you need to go for some custom solution using some BADI's to validate during MB1A/MIGO good issue posting.
