Remove Job Server

Former Member

Hi Gurus!

We have migrated Data Services 3.2 from server1 to server2 including the data services database. I have recreated the connections, repository registration, a new job server. Yet i still have two job servers: JobServer1 and JobServer2. I need to remove JobServer1 from this installation as it points to a wrong environment and confuses the users.

There is only one job server, JobServer2, in my Server Manager.

How do i remove JobServer1 ?

Many thanks!
Olga

Open the repo table AL_MACHINE_INFO and remove the record pertaining to your Jobserver1. Second method - You can also open the server manager and unsync the repo for Jobserver1. I prefer the first method, because the second one never worked for me.

Thanks, Arun,

I would do the first option, as there is no JobServer1 in Server Manager at all.. !

Hi Olga,

Can you see/remove this jobserver1  from the DS Server Manager tool?

if not you could backup  and edit/remove the unwanted jobserver from  the

%LINK_DIR%/DSConfig.txt

Or  you could try this method from the repo db:

  1. Backup and open SAP Data Services database repository in the database server
  2. Run following SQL query: Select * from AL_MACHINE_INFO;
  3. Delete the line entry for the unwanted jobserver1 and restart SAP Data Services service.

Login to DS designer> Tools>Designer>Environment>Select your wanted new job server.

Thanks,  Nawfal,

Interestingly, DSConfig.txt has only one job server - JobServer2. Same as DS Server Manager. Though I have both in AL_MACHINE_INFO.

I don't seem to have this path: DS designer> Tools>Designer>Environment

It appears to work without that anyway!
