SCN Badges are interesting

Friends

I feel the new look in SCN is pretty good and motivates us users to contribute more and earn more badges/ points.

What are your opinions?

honestly, now it looks like kindergarten - like kids icons/pics on serious website...

the previous system was smart - to show points for last 12 months. it reflected the real performance of SCN users.

but now - NOT

I don't like recent changes

Hi mr. PPIO,

I'm sorry to hear that you don't like the new SCN experience with gamification. I can tell you that we take it very seriously. We didn't implement the "out of the box" missions and badges when preparing for this launch, we designed badges from scratch that don't look too much like video game badges, but rather serious badges for a serious professional community like SCN. Same for the missions, they've been designed to make sense for everyone from newbie to well-established SAP professional and include quality as judged by the community.

And you can still check 12-month rolling points in the leaderboards, we feel it's more interesting information when it's related to the topic, and not how many points you have across SCN.

I hope that you will change your mind with time, maybe you need time to "adjust". If you don't adjust, it is your right, it's perfectly fine and I accept the fact! 😉

Best,
Laure

Hi Laure,

Sorry, I didn't want to hurt you. That was just my very personal look at things

I believe you've spent much time on this project and your work was excellent.

Anyway SCN is still a good place to be .

Regards,

PPIO

Don't worry! I'm not hurt 🙂
Thanks for writing this kind note.

I was just wondering if you were thinking about "leaving" or being less active in the community, and I was trying to change your mind already LOL. I sure don't want that! I'm glad to hear that you still find it OK here despite the childish badges 😛

Thanks,
Laure

Good going guys

By the way Laure, SCN used to show Leaderboard for the month right? Is the functionality still available? If yes, how do I navigate.

Also, I had raised another query today - wherein my Old points (400+) are showing in a separate profile and the current profile has 50+ points. How do I migrate those points and the contents?

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards

Hello Srinivasan,

Previously the leaderboards were always showing 12-month rolling points in the spaces. Maybe you remember the old forums (before March 2012) where we had top 3 contributors in the last 30 days (I think), but that was just for the forums and that is long gone.

Also, yes indeed it is still impossible to merge accounts, their content and points. We're planning to develop a new functionality that will work with Jive and the gamification platform.

Best,

Laure

Hi

I'm the memeber of SCN since 2006 and have particiated in SAP Community Day -2007 also.

To be honest, the previous system was smart - to show points for last 12 months, which is not there currently.

Ofcourse to adopt any new change,it will take some time.

So it's ok.

But if we can Dissuade each of our points to some charity purpose that will really motivate others too.(just my opinion.

Regards,

Sreeram
