How to set 12 CPI for printout from Printronix(Dot Matrix) Printer

Hi,

We are trying to print Delivery Note into Printronix printer P5210 (a Dot Matrix Printer) through a SAP Smartform.

We are facing two issues currently.

1. We need to have 12 characters displayed in an inch (12 CPI) when we are displaying the Item details . Where and what exactly do we need to do in

order to set the CPI to 12 ? THIS IS THE QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ANSWERED.

2. The font size required is Courier 10 (as per MS Word), but as it is displaying the output in much larger font, we are putting Courier 2 in the

Smartform so that it is displaying in the font size closer to Courier 10. Is there any settings to be made somewhere so that Courier 10 given in the

form will actually display the output in Courier 10 . THIS IS NOT A VERY URGENT QUERY, BUT IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER, YOU ARE

    MOST WELCOME.

Regards,

Shail.

Hi,

I believe you use the method of SAP note 137372. In this case, the print data is created in the third party software Codesoft Pro 7.10. The font size and CPI must be modified there before the label file is uploaded to SAP.

You have two options.

  1. First you can set characters per inch at form level  in form attributes->Output options tab. and secondly you can set these at smart style level also in header data->Standard settings tab. Setting at form level will act as reference for the smartstyle spacing.
  2. Seconldy you can control the font size using character and paragraph format. Have you created any style and used it in your smartform?

Thanks
