SAP CPS Event Mechanism Issue

Hello

We have jobs that are event driven ie the event comes from the SAP and the jobs gets triggered.We are currently scheduling such job with waitforevent Job definition for every1 second.The Issue we are facing here is the job takes almost 45 sec ~ 1 min to trigger in the target system.

but when we are scheduling the same job directly in SAP its getting triggered immediately.I do understand there will be a difference in scheduling the job in CPS or directly in system but due to such huge delay , we are being forced to schedule the vent based job directly in SAP system.

Can you please provide the way to handle this situation or any performance up gradation technique.
