SOLMAN system copy from 7.1 to 4.0

Hi All,

Recently we have performed SOLMAN 7.1 (NW EHP2) upgrade for our SOLMAN landsacpe till production, Our SANDBOX is still at SOLMAN 4.0 (NW EHP1),

As per the requirement, we were needed to perform system refresh from Dev system to SANDBOX.

I would like to understand the better approach as whether

I can directly perform system rebuild from NW7.02 to NW7.01 (method 1)

     or

Do we need to first upgrade the sandbox to solman 7.1 and perform system refresh? (Method 2)

we take transport requests as part of system refresh preparation before, my concern here is can we reimport them after we
perform system copy directly with higher version (like method 1)

Appreciate for your help on this, and share if you encounter this kind of situation.

Thanks and Regards

Purna

Perform a System Copy from the development system to the sandbox system. Your version will automatically change. Make sure the requirements (OS/DB) for the target version are met by the target system. You can't do System Copies from one version to another meaning the version will remain the same only the technical details identifying the SAP instance (SID, SYSNR, hostname, etc) will change because of the System Copy.
