Whatz the supported device database for the laptop in SAP MI platform. We are expecting around 5GB of data volume (I know this is funny but that's what is the business need) in the device.

The database support for the MI platform is DB2e only.

Thanks Peter. BTW, Does DB2e support the Windows XP/NT/2000 OS? I thought it was IBM CloudScape DB for Laptop. Please demystify.

Based on note 732737, it seems that IBM DB2e and Max DB can be supported as the database for the MI client. I think Max DB is only supported as of MI 2.5 SP09 while IBM Db2e is available for prior versions of MI/Mobile Engine. I think that there are basically 3 options for a database:

1. File I/O ( which I heard has performance problems)

2. IBM DB2e Version 8.2 (License required)

3. MaxDB Version 7.5.0.0.9

Seems that IBM DB2e has been in use longer with MI than MaxDB.
