Dear Gurus,
I have a question regarding goods issue of components to production order.
How can I make goods issue of component consider previous reservations
For example,
Material A consists of component B in ratio 1:1
Available quantity of component B is 10 pcs
Production order no. 1000 was created & released with 10 pcs for material A thus generating a reservation of 10 pcs for component B.
Then production order 1001 was created & released with 10 pcs for material A thus creating a reservation with 5 pcs of component B.
I want an error message to be generated if goods issue was done for production order 1001 before 1000 since the reservation of production order 1001 was created after the reservation of production order 1000.
Any help?!
Dear Reem Moustafa,
In standard SAP GI can be issued to any production order on priority basis and not on the production
order number/on the created time basis.
So in standard SAP it is not possible to create an error message.
The other way of addressing this scenario would be stopping production order release in case of
materials shortage.
Check the settings which Jeevan has mentioned and also ensure in the scope of check in OPJJ( for
the combination of checking group assigned to material B in MRP3 view and the checking rule
defined in OPJK for the order type and plant combination), if the relevant settings is set for Include
Dependent Reservation.(X/A).

Availability check is mainly to give you information about the material availability it has not ability to block goods issue to production.
But what you can do to is if the components are not available you and prevent the order from releasing. When the order is not released the user cannot do any goods issue at all. This way you can prevent the goods issue.
For that you need to make the following setting for business function 2, in OPJK for the relevant order type you need to make the following setting.
Also check out my explanation in the following thread.
