problem with flextime calculation

Former Member

Dear All,

If we run time statement balances report in PT40, we have a problem with flextime maximum for employees with capacity utilization level less than 100%.

For example:

One employee has the capacity utilization level 60% (InfoType 0008), so her flextime should be 16 (our flextime maximum) X 60% = 9 hr 36 min. But her flextime is cut off at 9 hr.

Another employee has the capacity utilization level 80%, so his flextime should be 16 X 80% = 12 hr 48 min. But his flextime is cut off at 13 hr.

A third employee has the capacity utilization level 53.33%. And her flextime is cut off at 8hr32min, which was correct.

Do you know this problem?

Thank you very much for any advice.

Best regards

Christina

Christina,

How are you doing the Flextime maximum calculation- it looks from your explanation, that you are doing things differently for different Cap utilization levels. I am assuming your business rules should have them.

Hello Krish,

Thank you very much for your reply. I searched in IMG for 'business rules' and found that we maintained 'Distribution Methods' CAPUTILLEV (BY CAPACITY UTILIZATION LEVEL)..

I know there must be a place in IMG, where I can tell SAP to calculate someone's flextime maximum according to "Distribution Methods" (for example 'by capacity utilization level')..

But I can't find it. Do you know the exact path in IMG?

Thanks and regards

Hi Christina,

Distribution methods are used only in Concurrent employment - does this mean you use Concurrent employment? If so, you can check under the Time Evaluation node in IMG -> Concurrent Employment in Time Management. You can also refer to the below SAP documentation for more details.

Hi Krish,

Thank you very much for your reply again.

I didn't know 'distribution methods'. I just saw it as I searched for 'business rules'.. No we don't use concurrent employment.

I am just wondering: where is the ' business rules' you mentioned in IMG? I couldn't find it.

Thanks and regards

Christina
