Hi Thushara,

         Did you solve the problem, we are also facing same problem. Please find following steps we enrolled device. Help me on solving this.

1. In Afaria->groups-> created static group "A"

2. In Afaria-> Policies-> Enrollment-> Created Android device enrollment and got tiny URL for SSP.

3. In mobile entered SSP url to enroll device.

4.From available options, used  Enroll new device to install afaria from GOOGLE PLAY.

5.From SSP URL, clicked on submit enrollment code, screen went to afraia, Enrollment code accepted successfully,

6.Next screen asked for user name and password, which i have given, my Afaria machine User name, pwd

7. Next appeared a text box asking for "ENTER YOUR INFORMATION" i have given dummy information.

8. Now getting same error you have got.

Afaria error: you are not assigned to run this policy.please contact your IT administrator

Please help me in solving this.

Hi Thushara and Srini,

Did you solve the problem, we are also facing a similar problem.

In our scenario, we are enrolling Andorid device with no SSP but directly putting enrollment code on afaria client.

For iOS we did't need to specify any user.

On Afaria Server, on IIS, on all sites credentials are 'anonymous'.

Why on Android device we have the error and to specify a username?

Maybe because iOS uses Enrollment Server and Android uses Afaria Server to enroll?

Hi all,

I solved my issue creating a Configuration Policy for Android:

- New Policy -> Configuration -> Android

- In summary section, enable Inventory (Hardware e software)

- Link the policy to All Devices group

Now I can enroll my Android device!

With Android, you have to assing to devices an enrollment policy AND a 'dummy' configuration policy to enroll correctly ... I don't know why...

Hi Piero,

         I have solved the problem what I have done is correct only. One more step we need to do is.. if you want to enroll your android device for first time, you need to create one inventory configuration policy( any other configuration policy also works) and need to assign that one to your android device group policy. Try on this, if you still facing issue, provide steps you have followed.

Srini..
