Usually data verification and testing is under technical user's or functional consultant's domain. User will give you his requirement and input output screen lay out. You should test and verify the data because you are custodian of your area in system. After your verification and satisfaction if you want end users to verify the data then best approach is to test data in standard reports. For instance if you have created report of order to cash cycle in which there is data from sale order, delivery and billing then you can verify sale order data from VA05 and VA05N and delivey data in VL06 and for invoices VF05 and VF05N.

HI Venu

Of course they will check at production client but a functional/technical consultant best can do to take the dump of table in a excel and provide the data to them and they can match their reports through excel dump and this will be more authenticated and a kind of rigorous testing because users are usually master in excel.

Hi Venu,

There are 2 ways of looking into this:

1. We generally provide standard reports and Z reports to users. Which are widely or frequently used in their day to day business.

2. Adhoc data or reports: In this case we will generate data from tables and submit to users.

How will they validate the data?

In case of first scenario, the testing will happen at Quality system (UAT) once user is matching with transactional data(may be the have to check one by one) then the report will move to Production.

Incase of 2nd scenario: TW has already highlighted. But, if the user knows what is SAP and its functionality, they will trust the data which is being generated from tables.

Hope it answers your question.

Regards, Sai Krishna.

Hi,

I didnt understand your question clearly

Users dont have authorizations for SE16N, do they for SE16 ?

and what table they want to extract? is it standard table?

if it is a customized table, then you will be having maintenane view for the table, if so you can check it in SM30

santosh

venu,

The users can go into the relevant transaction related data and check.

E.g.

If you have got information from table VBRK (using SE16N), then the user can check this by going to VF03.
