What are the steps for internal VAS process?

Hi Saby,

VAS is interim activity before final Putaway or before the staging in the goods issue area. Value added Service Order (VAS Order) can be use to perform the value added activity and to document them.  Assembling product, packing products, labelling or kitting some typical example of VAS activity. 

In the Interim steps, VAS Order defines the product processing which must be perform in work centre by the warehouse employee. VAS can be used both in inbound and outbound processes.

As a prerequisite, Inbound or outbound delivery order must exists.

I will consider one simple scenario of outbound process in order to explain the VAS scenario, in which we do packing and Customer specific labelling; the process step can be like as below.

1. Create a Storage type (e.g.  VS01 for Packing and VS01 for Labelling) and One Bin in each storage type (Bin1 in Storage type VS01 and Bin2 in Storage type VS02).
2. Create New Work centre layout for VAS.
3. Create the work centre(s) for VAS activity.
4. Assign Bin1 and 2 to the work centres created above.
5. Configure Process-oriented storage control for VAS process (Process-oriented storage control setup is required only if you wants the automatic creation of warehouse task in an interim steps)
6. Create and activate the Packaging specification for the Labelling and packing.
7. The determination of process-orientated storage control is done through Process type, hence create or use existing process type.
8. Define and assign Product group and Product group type for determination of VAS relevancy, through this setup system determination of the packaging specification and VAS relevancy for your product.
9. Assign your Product group type and Product group in Product master.

And Process Step could be as below.

On ERP System

1. Create Sale Order.
2. Create outbound delivery, Pack the material into HU, and Save. Outbound delivery no. will be distributed to SCM system.

On SCM System

1. Check in WH monitor for outbound delivery, VAS order will be created.
