Error in Importing ID objects in PI 7.3

Hi Experts,

SLD build is already completed in PI 7.3 through the Export/Import file from the existing PI 7.1 production system. All the Business systems, Technical Systems, Product and Software componenet versions are available in PI 7.3 (same as PI 7.1).

Before importing ID objects, I have assigned business systems in ID from SLD of PI 7.3 and now i can see all BS list in ID.

then Importing the ID objects of PI 7.1 to PI 7.3 thorugh the File Export/Import process, I am getting the below Error.

please note that there is not change in name for all BS/TS/product and SWCV in PI 7.3 (same name as in PI 7.1).

I have gone through the many forums but not got the proper idea.

please suggest.

Hi Hari,

In SLD, BS was not present in new SLD 7.3. That time mostly face this error.check once if present, delete that and recreate once and then try. If that BS is web as ABAP related, check in 7.3 steps to create that BS and check it is correctly created.

           yes. As BS name is same then no need of Groups. then what to do.......

And for more info :       Everything running smoothly DEV-->QA-->and PRD as we r using Pi 7.1.

Recently, one more server been provided that is Pi 7.3.  Instead of creating all SLD objects in new server, we imported SLD objects and assigned all the Bussiness Systems in ID successfully. But we are not able to import other Configuration objects into new server through file level transportation due to above error shown in screen shot.

All ESR objects imported successfully from old prod PI 7.1 to new PI 7.3.

Hi All,

In my case, we are maintaining the business system name as same as available in existing PI 7.1 production system.   As we know, whenever we are having two BS names are different in two landscapes then only we will go for Groups.

PI 7.1 -   B.system name         :     SYS_BS1

same name using in PI 7.3  as :      SYS_BS1

Please suggest.

Hi Srihari,

as mentioned above is your Business system name SYS_BS1 is same in all three systems (DEV-->QA--> and PRD).

If not you need to add the groups in your transport groups.

Hi Srihari,

You need to have all the OLD SLD content in your new SLD and also Transport groups defined.

Then only you would be able to import ID objects correctly.

Hi Srihari,

For every Business system, we need to define the target Business system where we are importing the objects.

As, you are trying to export from PI 7.1 and importing in PI 7.3, the Business system created in PI 7.3 needs to be defined in the Business system.

Create the Business system in PI 7.3 and define that in PI 7.1 and then try to export & import in PI 7.3.

Hi Srihari,

you need to have in the new SLD (in the SLD used by new PI system) the imported Business Systems (Your system SYS_... from the error message) and a new Business sytem. Typical would be to transport from old production to new development. So you need the development systems as well. And of course a transport target from production to development in that case.
