No Planning file exist for newly created material with MRP views?

Hi Experts

I created new material MM01 using  similar reference material with all MRP views (1,2,3 & 4) still i do not see planning file created for the new material?

I can manually create the planning file & run also MDAB however i wanted to know why Planning file was not created for the new material.

Please suggest!

Hello Rajesh,

The planning file entry is created provided MRP type in MRP 2 view of material master is having MRP procedure relevant to MRP.

The most common reason a planning file entry is not created is that the material was created before MRP was turned on for that plant (transaction-OMDU).  Another reason is that Materials created by certain batch SAP programs do not trigger the creation of a planning file entry automatically

Hello Rajesh,

Please check if you have created the MRP views of the new material. Planning file entry is not created if you do not create MRP views in material master.

Also please check in transaction OMDU if the MRP is active for the plant. Planning file entry is not created if MRP isinactive in the plant.

Hi

Planning file entry is created automatically once you have executed MDAB for plant level. But if you have converted any material from plnat level MRP to storage level MRP are, then you have  ensure that you run MDAB once for this MRP are as well.

If you create material with MRP view, the Planning file entries will be created automatically.

Also check OMDU if the activate MRP is selected for the plant.

Thanks for your inputs, i m aware of the options which you gave but my query is in spite of creating manually material with all MRP views and MRP Type:PD & Plant is activated in OMDU. Why system doesn't create planning file automatically.

Which MRP element derives creation of Planning file? is it MRP Type ?

Hi Rajesh,

Did you try running the Regenerative MRP at plant level?

And schedule this Regenerative MRP, at certain frequency (say Weekly or Monthly as you need) to take care of such uncertainties?

You can create from MD20 and view thru MD21 planning file entries for material. for plant you can do thru batch MDAB.

I guess it(system) should create automatically if we are creating new material with MRP Views and MRP Type, correct me if im wrong because my client had created around 200+ materials most of them had planning file except few.
