BO special character

Hello everyone,

I want to know if there are some special character that we can't use in BO.

It seems that some Material Master data coming from SAP ERP are not present in BO database because they contain some special character on the matirial code (like "£" or "$").

Do you know if there are some restriction?

Thank you in advance for yor support.

Regards

It seems that the problem is in the DWH database of BO.

If I check in the MARA table of the ERP per MATNR column is correct, in BO DWH in the table MATERIAL the column MATERIAL_ID has a strage code...

For exaple in ERP "C£A" and in BO "C£A".

Both databases are sqlserver with the same collation "SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN2".

Where could be the problem?

Hello,

we solved the problem working on DataService designer.

We put the codepage=UTF8 in SAP connection and now we see the correct material code also in BO DWH, before it was default.

BO can definately deal with any special character, you just need to use Arial Unicode Font for it.

Thanks,

Hello Matteo,

You suppose to handle this either in report or at universe level.

Kindly clarify how you are accessing data from SAP tables.
