Upgrade from IBM i V5.4 to V7.1 - Experience ?

An i-SAP customer running on i V5.4 plans to upgrade directly to V7.1.  He is looking for info from other i-SAP customers who did this already - but is too shy to contact this blog. Therefore , i am asking in his stead :  

Has anyone on this i-SAP community any practical experience with a direct V54 to V71 upgrade,  that he can share with our  i-SAP "fellow-customer"  ?   Thanks in advance .
