MS word and Excel Not working in ECL viewer

Dear All,

CAD files and PDF is working fine with ECL when i attached word and excel in DIR system throws an error "file is not a valid format".

In SDN found solution is S Note 1286768 and 1375425. But this notes cannot be implemented, If any one knows the solution please reply at the earliest.

Dear Nayeem,

for displaying WORD or EXCEL files the ECL Viewer is not the right application. For office files please use MS Office externally by using parameter %AUTO% in transaction DC30 or use the Office integration parameter like %SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.INPLACE% or %SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.OUTPLACE%.

But is there any way so that even word and excel can be viewed in ECL. The normal office integration i'm already using it.

Just need to know the S note mentioned above is for what use.

Hello Nayeem,

Please what Christoph has advised you.

It's always good to use %AUTO% parameter in DC30.

Otherwise you may also use office integration parameters specified by Christoph.

The notes what you have mentioned:

1286768: is for "Support from Office Integration for Office 2007 files (*.docx, *.xlsx) format."

1375425: is for "When excel is invoked as inplace using SAP Office Integration then in some cases the excel is not visible. This behavior occurs only with Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2(SP2)."
