Planning strategy for FG is 11 .Now my requirement is when i run the MRP MD02 for FG system should create planned order for SFG and PR for raw materials even though i have enough stock of SFG and Raw mat to cover the requirements . Could you please suggest a solution .

Hi

Try using MRP area.

We have scenario where some FG needs SFG and RW which are used for other FGs as well. But to have individual track of requirement for the particular FG, we have storage location MRP are defined for some of the FGs and the SFG and RW are extended to these MRP areas as well.

We then execute MRP using scope of planning run. First for plant level MRP area and then for individual storage location MRP area.

This keeps the requirement in track.

For e.g.

FG ABC has SFG XXX and RW YYY. These SFG and RW are also used in other FGs as well.

So we have reated storge location TEST01 and assigned to MRP area test01. We have also extended the SFG and RW to these Storage location adn assigned them to the MRP area TEST01.

Then scope of planning run, we run Plant level MRP area first and then MRP area TEST01.

Seperate requirement is created ofr the MRP area TEST01 requirment.

Dear,

If you exclude the stock of SFG from MRP it will build the inventory stock for SFG products.Which you have to consume some where, or need sale it out. Other wise you will have unwanted inventory for these products which is nor right business practice.

For your requirement please try this,

FG maintain strategy as 11 with Mixed MRP Indicator in material master

SGF without any strategy with different storage location than  FG and excluded the storage location from MRP through MMSC or material master setting. Same for raw materials too. So that system won;t consider the stock while running MRP and system will create a procurement proposal same as dependent requirement qty.

Please test the same and come back.

Hi,

  • By maintaining minimum stock level/Safety stock
  • By maintaining Availability check parameters accordingly
  • By maintaining "Plan Regularly" indicator in MRP Types config.

would be the few reasons that would create Planned orders fro SFG & RM.

Pls.revert if it works.
