Moving Landscape to VM

Dear All,

We are planning to move our ECC Dev , ECC Qas and EP Dev , QAS, and solman also on VM ,,,,How to plan for that ....Whether we have to migrate from the OS ,,,,or db backup we have to restore....and Then all the step like License and all.

Hi Rableen,

If the combination of OS and DB remains the same, it's easy.. Then you only have to perform a homogeneous system copy. Indeed you have to apply a new license and probably to have to setup your RFC connections again.

In case OS or DB will change, you have to execute a heterogeneous system copy, which will be more work.. Post processing however remains more or less the same.
