Url parameters for R3 and BW

I know there is a limit on the url length(no of characters) while passing parameters to BW or R3 or any other.

Are there any alternatives to pass more than the limit(256 chars i guess)?

Like: In one Iview if i select say, 30 Items(each item's name cud be 10 characters in length, so more than 300 chars... ) and would like to client event & pass these values to BW and also append these values to Url of R3 transaction iview.
