DTP error populating 0 records for 0COORDER_ATTR

Former Member

Hi everyone,

hope you are fine!

I am facing an issue while loading from PSA into a DSO.

It is only appearing when 0 records arrived from source.

The DataSource is 0COORDER_ATTR and the target is a standard DSO.

The DTP is executed via process chain and the settings are the following:

error handling: no update, no reporting.

extraction mode: Full mode

Error is saying that due to settings the request is Red.

message: Exception in Substep Extraction Completed

When displaying the place in ABAP it is referring to the exception cx_rs_step_failed

The InfoPackage - extraction mode Delta - shows only a red symbol in the detail section: Processing (data packet): No data

But the technical and overall status is green.

Any idea or hints how this can be resolved?

thanks in advance.

bye Ömer

Did the data come upto the PSA Check in sm37,check whether  the process time out?

Hi everyone,

seems to be that there is bug in SAP BW 7.1 SP 7 having the setting in the DTP "select last request" when running in Full mode.

Unchecked and emptied the PSA solved this issue.

Hope this helps.

check whether it contains special characters, if invalid chars are there go to RSKC enter invalid character and excute it .

Hi Omer,

You got zero records from source. have you checked how many records are there in source.

Please check at T- code -  RSA3(in source system), give the data source and check it.

If records are there in source and bw side you got 0 records and info pack request is green then its background user id authorisations issue.

ALEREMOTE or BWREMOTE ids need to have roles - SAP_ALL ,  S_BI-WHM_RFC.

Thanks

Hi Omer,

Can you please see the job overview for the DTP. You can find it in the menu section. This would give in more details about the failure.

One more input required, " exception cx_rs_step_failed" as mentioned initial post, is it a dump seen in st22 or the processing details of the DTP ?

Hi Mohamed,

thanks for you input.

attached the log of the DTP.

No dump written in st22 nor in sm21.

Since this abort the run is ending successful because data were extracted.

Thinking about to delete this DTP and create a new one.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Dear Akcay, After running a full load initially, had you changed the same DTP's settings? You can check the DB for any locks. Also http://scn.sap.com/thread/3173929  Regards, Arun Bala

Hi Omer,

Change the DTP Error Handling option  to -->  "Valid records update, reporting possible"

Run this DTP.

After running this DTP, all the valid records should get updated to the target.

After completion of the data data load, in the monitor screen of DTP-> Click on the error Stack  icon, here you can view the erroneous record. Correct the record and create a error DTP and upload the same.

Hi Omer,

Sorry if I didn't get your name right. One interesting point that caught my attention in your problem description was:

The InfoPackage - extraction mode Delta - shows only a red symbol in the detail section: Processing (data packet): No data

But the technical and overall status is green.

This seems to be because of the traffic light handling in Infopackage. Open infopackge -> Scheduler -> Traffic Light Color for Empty Request. This should be set to Green:

If this is red, then all empty requests will end up with RED status and the DTP will not pull these requests as these are treated as incorrect.

Give changing the traffic light status for empty requests and do let us know how it goes.

Hi Manohar,

you got my name correct 🙂

as far I remember we set this setting. Actually the option is greyed out.

But this is showing at InfoPack monitor

I am not sure if this is causing the error in DTP.

Hi Omer,

One last check would clear all doubts. Please search your datasource in RSA1 datasources - Right click on the data source - Click on Manage. Here the requests lined up for updation to DSO will be displayed. Please check the status of these requests. Are the requests with 0 records green here ? If they are not then it is a problem with the traffic light setting and you will have to get in touch with the BASIS team to get the required authorizations to change the setting. I'm also wondering if the update mode on the Infopackage is Delta. Generally Delta update Infopackages which are used in Process Chains have this option greyed out. If this is the case then you can follow the below option:

Tcode: SPRO - SAP Reference IMG - SAP Netweaver - Business Intelligence - Automated Process - Set Traffic Light Color.

Good Luck,

Manohar

Hi Manohar,

thanks for this.

In SPRO the traffic light for 0 records from source should turn to yellow.

I will monitor this for a while and will also discuss this with Basis and Authorization team.

thanks again.

Hi Omer,

This data source is  0COORDER_ATTR attribute data source, you need to load data into info object - 0COORDER. Its master data, it not transactional data source.

Thanks

Hi Raman,

thanks for your answer.

additional information. We are on BW 7.3 level 7.

As we are extracting from multiple clients we decided to use a DSO - act like an infosource - before we are going to populate into infoobject.

Do you say when populating direct to the infoobject the DTP will run successul when 0 records arrive?

The error message of the DTP is saying due to the settings it turns red. But how can this be changed?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
