Hello Folks,
we have installed BO Explorer in BI 4.0 SP4 server (linux). After this installation we have run into some dummy errors in CMC and also an error in BI Launch pad.
The most critical for me now is the LCM, that is not working properly. The buttons do not respond to my actions; when I create a new job, no all the selected objects are loaded; etc.
In the CMC home, I can see the following dummy messages in the links for LCM (promotion management and version management) and also the same dummy message for Customer Application Attr (see screen shot attached):
???dummy.action.LCM.display.name???
???dummy.action.VMS.display.name???
When I click the link for LCM, it shows me the logon screen. I can logon but LCM is not working normally, as mentioned above.
Also in the logon screen I can see an error before I try to login (attached).
Has anyone seen this problem?
Could you please help me with this?
thanks in advance!
regards,
Mariele
As mentioned above, when I try to create a job using this "dummy" LCM, when I try to "browse" the directory to add the locale to save the job (it is mandatory field), the OK button does not work.
Is there anyone in SP05? I could find a note that states the following:
1833569 - New job creation does not complete in Promotion
management
It seems the step "browse" is missing here... or it does not exist in SP05 anymore??
I've attached a screen shot for your information.
thanks for your help.
Mariele

Hi Mariele,
If the issue was not resolved even after redepolying the Warfiles from scratch, we could go ahead with the repair option.
If it is a PROD server, donot use the repair option, go ahead with the latest patch upgrade for both BO and Explorer.
If it is a NON PROD environment, go ahead and repair the BO Server (Full Bulid) installation. Before going ahead, please do maintain the required Database backups (CMS,Audit and Filestore). I have seen few scenarios where the issue was happened due to missing of few Java lib files. So I am expecting that, repairing the BO server BASE installation would bring up the files that are missing.
Else if you have a any working fine environment with both BO and Explorer at same patch level (probably the same kind of environment) try replacing (Manual Copy and Paste) the required warfiles (by taking the back up of the warfiles from the problematic environment) from the working fine environment to this environment.
Please do keep us posted with your findings.

Niranjan.
Hello Niranjan,
thanks for your answer.
we did reinstall as you (and SAP - we have opened a ticket) suggested.
It seems there was something corrupted but even SAP could identify that.We have tried adding a blank schema for DB2 and it did not work.
Then we decided a completely new installation and it did work.
No repairs, no patches upgrades worked for us. Only reinstalling from the begining.
Below are the steps recommended by SAP and that we have followed to solve the problem:
uninstall everything
then install SP4 full build for BI Platform
then install SP4 full build for explorer
then install SP05 patch for BI Paltform
and then SP05 patch for Explorer
Thanks everyone for your help.

Mariele
Hi Mariele,
This is a known issue with BI 4.0. This issue might happened with Explorer or Data Services Installation.
As said, redeploying of the warfiles (core warfiles ) using the Wdeploy tool might resolve the issue.
Else, you can upgrade to the latest patch.

Niranjan.

Hello Niranjan,
is this a known issue?? I could not find anything else besides the note mentioned above...
And yes, the issue started right after installing BO Explorer.
Yesterday we have updated to Patch 9, but it did not help. but at that time, we did not redeploy the war files. We are going to follow with this step and will let you know.
thanks and regards,
Mariele
Hi,
If you are up for installing SP05 then you may install SP05 for BI Platform and then SP05 for explorer to mitigate the issue.
SP06 is available for download from today but you should wait for few days before considering SP06 to know if there are any regression issues in there.

Hello Kumar,
thanks! Yes, I´ve found this note... besides it is not exactly the same problem, I can confirm that we have installed BO Explorer in the same machine that is hosting Java App server.
We have redeployed the war files after BO Explorer installation and it did not solve the issue.

Hello Mariele,
Please check that the Explorer version is at same patch level as Business Intelligence Platform.
Otherwise the war files did not get deployed properly when installed Explorer , try to re-deploy them.
I hope this help.
Cheers,
Fadoua
