migration from pb9 to pb12.5

hi,

i installed pb12.5 on windows 7, and tried to migrate pb9 app to pb12.5 but facing problem in the arabic text displayed in label on windows and datawindow the text are shown as garbage charecters.

any help plz.

Unicode support was introduced in the PB10 release. 

1.  How is the label text produced?  Is it hard-coded into the label control or is it retrieved from the database?

2. Have you tried creating a new test window/datawindow to see if the problem can be replicated when starting from scratch?

1.Yes the the text are hard-coded into the label control.

2. i have created new test window/dw and i could enter the Arabic text.

but the problem is with the migrated windows and datawidows and specially the text of message boxs.

Hi mohd ;

  If you open the DW source directly ... does the 1st line say "Release 9.0" or "Release 12.5"?

If it says "9.0" - can you change it to "12.5", save DWO and then see if the Arabic text works?

after changing from 9.0 to 12.5 it is still showing garbage characters only. during migration only it is changing the text to garbage characters, so if i edit the source and save it i think it will show garbage characters only
