Hi All:
We are very new to this and would like to ask more information additional to this blog: http://scn.sap.com/community/test-data-migration-server/blog/2013/04/01/create-stand-alone-scramblin...
Based on the blog above this looks like a Portal (Java Based) application of the TDMS 4.0.
Your input is very much appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Mike
Hello Mike,
Yes, TDMS 4.0 is a webdynpro application. You can download this in from the software corner if you have the license. (https://service.sap.com/swdc) .
The stand-alone scrambling needs 2 system landscape. One is the central/control system where you create the project. The other one is the execution(test/development/training) system where the actual scrambling takes place. So nothing happens to your scrambling project.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards
Malthi

Hi Malthi: As always thank you very much for your help.
I read the Getting Started with SAP TDMS 4.0 and the installation guide. Like what you have said, the system landscape needs to have Central/Control and the Execution servers. Can the Central/Control install be where our Solution Manager is installed? Is there any disadvantage on that?
Also, the target/execution system is where the production system is getting copied to, correct? And that is why project/template system is not affected by the system copy. Both systems required to have TDMS 4.0 installed, correct?
Thank you very much again in advance,
Mike
