Quality Notification not showing in Serial Number history

Team,

In serial number history generally we can trace the notification number.

Now for some of the serial numbers, i am unable to find notification number in the history.

Can you suggest any correction program Or OSS Note for the same.

Thanks,

Did you find a solution for this?  I am having the same issue.  Ever since we turned on Assigned Objects for Quality Notifications, the serial number history on Quality Notifications is not appearing.

Please respond if you have a knows solution.

Thanks!

Yes, I looked at this note, however, the material number has not been changed.

The only way the serial number history is populated is by entering the serial number at the item level using the assigned objects tab.  Then it works, but most of our notifications do not use the assigned objects tab.  The serial number is usually on the Reference Objects tab.

I opened an OSS note with SAP to see if they have a solution.

Hi Subrahmanyam - You are correct. I am not able to see the Notification number in IQ03 serial history.

But if I goto QM03 and enter the notification number there then I can see that the Material and Serial Number are there.

Dear Sameer S

In Serial Number history, you should be able to see Quality Notifications

I will give you example scenario:

Setting:

1) Material: Product/Item with Inspection Type activated

2) Serializing number profile: 0001 (Having procedure MMSL and QMSL)

Transactions:

1) Create Purchase Order

2) Receive the Material against Purchase Order. System generates Serial Number "10006778"

3) Create quality notification of type F3 (material error)

Specify Material and Serial number "10006778"

    Save the notification

4) Go to serial number history (Transaction IQ03) for Serial Number "10006778"

You will get the Notification in the history

If you double click the Notification number, System will direct you to the Quality Notification

Are you having similar scenario??

Hello Vivek - Thank you for the detailed response. Appreciate it.

We have maintained a custom Serial Number profile for the material at the plant level which makes entering a Serial Number mandatory for all transactions.

Our process is as follows:

Customer calls our call center regarding a complaint with regards to one of the machines that we sold him. The call center folks create a complaint with all the relevant details including the Material and Serial Number using QM01.

The problem is that this complaint is not visible in IQ03. The issue happens intermittently and is not occurring all the time.

Let me know if you need anymore details.

Thanks,

Dear Sameer S

Thanks for describing your business process

I did the following steps

1 - Create Material with Serial number profile mandatory for all transactions

2 - Serial numbers arrive at factory

3 - Sales Order, Delivery created and Serial numbers shipped to customer

4 - Complaint received from customer which is processed by Customer Service, Quality Notification Q1 created (Customer Complaint) with data related to Sales Order, Delivery, Material, Serial Number

5 - View Serial number History

You might be facing error because -

A - Customer Complaint has no Serial Number put in

B - Customer Complaint might have Serial Number of different Customer/Sales Order

I am attaching screenshots for illustration

Vivek - Thanks once again. I have checked and the Serial Number exists in our system and in the quality notification. Infact we have an exit which checks if the material/serial number combination exists in SAP as soon as the user enters the information.

Dear Sameer S

Thanks for your reply and feedback

In the past, I have used the exit in customer complaint to check material/serial number combination

At present, I am using standard SAP which works fine

You might consider re-looking into your custom program/exit

Hi Sameer,

We are facing the same problem, where custom serial number profile which we added in QM0* transaction > reference objects and quality notification not showing in serial number history in IQ03.

Please share the details of EXIT, which checks the material/serial number combination in SAP.

Thanks in Advance
