Check classification in destination country

Dear GTS Gurus,

I have an unusual requirement. Not sure, if anybody else came across this situation.

We send goods from USA to Canada. We have configured system to check Product classification for Legal Regulation associated to USA. Meaning, if product is not classified for LRUS, documents is blocked. This applies to any export out of USA.

Now we have requirement to check if product is classified to LR Canada, in addition to LRUS. And this check should come into picture only when, product is shipped from USA to Canada, and not other exports out of USA.

Can this requirement be fulfilled with a simple configuration? If not, is there any exit available that can be used to add LR Canada check?

Any help is appreciated,

Salil

    Hi Salil,

I'm not sure that I share Dhilipan's optimism regarding the configuration.  Could I ask; why do you need to check classification in your customer's country?  And if you do that for Canada, why not also for other export countries?

Understanding your business requirement might make a solution easier to find.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Hi Salil,

This should be possible with configurations.

Can you check how is legal regulation determination strategy activated in your system . Is it  country/country level or countrygroup/country group level.

i believe you will be having both

    1) country/country

    2) country group/country group

If yes, all you have to do is

--> Create a new legal regulation. Do all the other necessary configs.

--> Go to settings for Activate Legal regulation under Legal control.

--> Select your new legal regulation, on the left side you will find country/country check

Make sure you add USA at the higher level and do not activate legal check for export here.

Now select the line you added for country USA  and get in a level deeper where you can provide destination country.

Provide Canada there and then activate legal check for export. This will make sure that this new legal regulation is determined only if there is an export from US to Canda and not in any other cases.

The reason i said to activate legal export check at the lower level-Destination country. This will make sure this legal regulation doesn't get determined for all exports from US.

So, your config. would be something like this.

    -Legal regulation- USCA

-Country- US- Import check- not active, Export check-not active-->(Higher level)- Departure country for exports.

-Country- CA- Import check- not active, Export check- active.-->(Lower level)-Destination country for exports.

Do not change anything to your existing legal regulation- LRUS.

Make sure all the other usual config. are also in place. Please try the same in sandbox and let me know if you have any other queries.

    Regards

    Dhilipan
