Find Out What Version of SAP B1 Installed?

Hi,

Is there a way via c# to find out what version of SAP B1 a client has installed on their machine before installing an add-on so we can display that and then stop the installation so they know why? We are having the same struggle with a custom UDF installer we wrote. If we don't compile our installer on a machine that has the same version of SAP B1 as the customer's machine, it won't work but there are not errors that come back telling us that is the reason. It's quite frustrating that we can't compile stand alone apps or add ons to be version independent and install them on the customers machines. We know have customers using multiple versions and it's a real pain to keep recompiling our applications and add ons using different versions of SAP B1 depending on the customer.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
