Hi Experts,
have one requirement here.
we use the VL71 background batch job to process the email (transmission medium 5 - External send) and fax outputs for the deliveries by a variant on a daily basis (once a day).
The variant processes only those outputs which are triggered in deliveries but are not yet processed (first processing - for status "0")
due to some wrong selection on the variant, many of the old deliveries are still in status "0" and not yet processed by the VL71 job.
We now have corrected the variant and the outputs after the corrections are working fine.
However, we want to process the old outputs from status "0" to status "1" (successfully processed) but not send them to the customers as we don;t want to flood the customers with old delivery outputs.
NOTE : Its a business requirement to process the old outputs from status 0 to status 1 as they can not keep the old outputs in status 0. But at the same time the outputs should not be sent to the customers (so no workaround).
please suggest. I believe we can achieve this for the FAX outputs in SOST but don;t know how do we achieve this for the email outputs.
I know this is a hilarious requirement but i feel most of the business requirements are like that.
Thanks,
Siddhant
Yes Siva i understand its done in quality and development servers and i know it can be controlled in SOST but my only concern is that even if run the job in non operational hours, will the basis team have to disable the active connection port from SOST for that period of time? if disabling the active internet connection or the port is involved then it might create problems for the other relevant processes.
Pls suggest how exactly its done
Thanks,
Siddhant

Hi Siddhant,
I even don't know how they block it,but co-ordinate with your basis team ,they should be able to help you on this.
The other way is to make temporary change in the print program by which we can stop sending e-mails by commenting the address number passed in the program .once you are done then you can revert back the changes.
Thanks,
Siva.
Hi Siddhant,
Check with your basis team, they can block sending e-mails.
when this Job executed in non operational hours , blcok the e-mails and aks them to delete the blocked e-mails .
E-mail blocking is very much general functionality used in Quality and development system.
Thanks,
Siva.
