BPC with sybase

Hi All,

I am very new to this module and our company is evaluating the tool.

I got a question from one of my top level, We implemented Sybase IQ, BODS, BO and we are not on SAP at all.

To implement BPC -Microsoft version why do we need Microsoft tool or database again. An additional maintenance - Can we do that in Sybase IQ ??

Correct me if I am wrong.
