Hello Experts,
Im going to perform a system copy by R3load method (SAP Solman 7.0 EHP1 - Unicode). I've seen that now We have to use the Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) for doing export/import process. The question is as follow:
The Solman is using SAP Kernel 7.01 (not yet 720) and I've seen that there's a DVD call "51045931_6 - 720 UC Kernel for SWPM SP02 - Windows Server on x64 64bit", will I be able to use that DVD and get the system running with 720 after import process? or Will I have to use a DVD with kernel 7.01 for import and then change the kernel to 720 as a post system copy procedure?
Thanks for your time,
JAM
will I be able to use that DVD and get the system running with 720 after import process?
Absolutely. Kernel 720 is downward compatible.

Thanks for your reply Juan,
I know that Kernel 720 is DCK but my question is if I could use that DVD in the SWPM when configuring the import process, because source system is using Kernel 7.01. I mean, would I avoid to apply sap note 1636252 by using the DVD that I mentioned above?
I was cheking the SAP Note 1633731 which also says:
The following four bullet points apply only to Dual-Stack or Java only systems:
Release 7.00 or 7.01: There was an incompatibility regarding jmon (SAP note 1652660). This has been eliminated with the following version of the SAP Tech S Offline component:
Release 7.00: SAP TECH S 7.00 OFFLINE, SP 14, PL 24
Release 7.01: SAP TECH S OFFLINE 7.01, SP 5, PL 20
This implies that at least support-package stack 14 or 5, respectively, must be installed in your system
The problem is that the ABAP stack is 7.01 and the Java stack is 7.00 SPS 12 (I know It's weird, our next step is to upgrade to Solman 7.1 and have the same release for ABAP/Java stack). We're not using the CCMS monitoring so could we obviate this note? (1652660)
Then It also says:
Release 7.00 or 7.01: The tool JSPM must have at least SP 24 or 9, respectively.
As our JSPM is in a lower SP, I guess there shouldn't be a problem to apply SP 24 after the import, right?
By all that I mentioned before, would it be better to keep with Kernel 7.01 and then change it after upgrade to Solman 7.1?
Thanks for your time,
JAM
btw, are you from latin america? (your fullname seems like that).
