Hi Experts,

We have scenario that client wants to allow negative stock for the process orders.

We have done the required config for select storage location in OMJ1 and maintained the negative stock allowed indicator in MMR.

we are testing to allow the negative stock but still getting the error  that Qty deficit in Unrestricted use stock. all the materials are batch managed.

Any suggestions. Appreciate your early response.

regards,

SR

This is not the full message.

The entire message is assembled by variables, so each character is important for a root cause analysis.

Does this batch exist? does it exist in the storage location you want post the goods issue from?

Or is it just the first posting for this batch at all?

Technically: is there a MCHB record?

Yes. The Batch exists in the storage location from where we are trying to do the GI.

I can do the GI using moment type 261 to process order for the quantity we have in unrestricted use.

but we want to test the negative inventory issue.

which system is not allowing even after doing all the required customization setting required for allow negative stock is done.

Can you explain what exactly you did in OMJ1 ?

I suspect that you did not allow negative stock at valuation area level. I think you just selected the valuation area and navigated down to the storage location level and have set the indicator for negative stock only there.

This is not sufficient. you cannot allow negative stock for a certain storage location only, if it is not permitted at higher level in general.

If it would be that easy, then the indicator in the material master would already be enough.

the customizing is like a filter, from rough to fine.

you allow it in general for a valuation area

but within that valuation area only for a certain plant

and within that plant only for a certain storage location

and finally master data:

you allow it for a certain material in a certain storage location.
