ITS agate question

WHat is the difference between having:

a. Agate with multiple processes

b. Multiple agates

Does any one have any best practices that they are currently using for setting up their ITS strategy?

Thanks

Hello Jeremy,

Difference is in the kind of scaling/loadbalancing!

  • with multiple agates (on different hosts) the wgate takes care of the loadbalancing and failover.

  • with multiple agate (sub)processes the MManager (Agate Mapping Manager) distributes the load over the Agate processes (on the same host).

Of course a combination of both is also possible.

The strategy depends on the load you are expecting, please rever to the ITS installation and tuning guides for an estimation/calculation.
