Adding Material Variant (XLTYP) as Zfield in Data Model MM

Hi,

I have to add attribute XLTYP - Material Variant as Z Field in entity material,but there is no target structure delivered in MDG under Material API  as standard for it, how can i map this field in SMT Mapping ?

Can this enhancement of data model be done without enhancing database table MARA.

Hi Anju,

1.The enhanced field to be available in source and target Mappings you have generate the structures

  Data Modelling->generate data model specific structure.

2.Cross check whether the field has generated in the structure MDG_BS_MAT_S_MARA

once it is done you have two options

a.either to Maps to available standard SATNR field.

b.Or create the custom field in MARA table and then map.

If we are talking about the same field in MM01/MM02 (rmmzu-xltyf, data element XLTYP), then this is derived information and never manually maintained.

It is set e.g. if the material is a variant of a configurable material and has been configured.

Check form LESEN_MATERIAL in function group MGMM and dynpro 2499 in function group MGD1 on this.

Not sure what you want to achieve with the Z field. Extending MARA probably adds no value, as this append would not consider the business logic mentioned above.

In many use cases, a material variant can be recognized if the field MARA-SATNR is filled. This field is part of the MDG6.1 governance scope.
