Adding Material Variant (XLTYP) as Zfield in Data Model MM

Hi,

I have to add attribute XLTYP - Material Variant as Z Field in entity material,but there is no target structure delivered in MDG under Material API as standard for it, how can i map this field in SMT Mapping ?

Can this enhancement of data model be done without enhancing database table MARA.
