how to extract data from ecc to bi?

hi..

   i'm newbie to sap..m doing training project on OUTSTANDING ACCOUNTS PAYABLE...m retrieving data using sap query  from MM AND FI during my ecc to bi extraction how to select the application component and also how to replicate the meta data from those two modules.....

Hi Dhana,

Normally ECC data was pulling into BI Side by using extraction concept.

in extraction data source is the main one which is str of our requirement. normally SAP Delivered some data source. if sap defined data sources are not matching to your requirement you can go with Generic extraction method.

For generic extraction, you can search on scn, you will get lot available links, pdf and threads also.

to create generic data source  T -Code  - RSO2.

Generic data source is created on

1. Table

2. View(Multiple tables)

3. Function module.

4. info set query

Application component- according to your requirement you can choose MM(related to MM data source)  or FI-AP(account payble related data source).

once data source was ready, log into BW server, t code - RSA1, left panel choose data source, select respective application component - right click -- replicate data source, after the success of this replication, activate data source.

Remaining steps are common: Create transformations, create info pack and DTP(targets DSo or Cube)

Hi,

I think your requirement is Generic data source creation and take up/replicate into BW?

You can find many threads on this, search with relevant words.

Replication metadata doing from BW only. Right click of source system then find the option for replication.

Hope you can finds relevant one and resolved your issue.
