Windows 7 64bits + SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio

Hi folks,

I would like to know if I can run Visual Studio 2010 with SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 64bits.

I'm trying to use it, but the crystal reports can't connect to oracle database inside the developtment enviroment, to get tables and start to work; the other applications on same machine access the database normaly.

Window 7 Professional 64bits

Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate

ODT with ODAC (oracle tools for visutal studio) 32bits

SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio (executable version)

Thanks.

Yup, it will work fine.

Make sure you're using Service Pack 5 for CRVS:

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824

Look up the error code (Ora 12154) in  your Oracle documentation. E.g.; this is an error being thrown by the Oracle Client and the CR engine is simply passing it through untouched.

A quick google search shows lots of info on the error.

Finally, remember that even though you are on a 64 bit OS, you are running VS 2010 which is 32 bit and CR inside VS, which is 32 bit so your Oracle Client must be 32 bit also.

I am trying(without any success) to find the Crystal Reports download  for Visual Studio 2010. Looking at the grid with the various downloads doen't tell me which file  to download for the original installation. I too need the 64 bit version.

Your post above leads me to believe that you foun it.

Hello Milton

All of the downloads are documented here:

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824

The actual install files are the "Install Executables":
