Version Management not functioning

Former Member

We would like to use version management in BI4 SP05 Patch 5, but it does not seem to work. Perhaps I am missing something that you have found is required to enable subversion to work for version management?

Sincere thanks!

Lee Lewis

Here is where we are at:

When we try to add a file, get red text flashing quickly by at top of the
screen with the path to the filestore and says it is already under vm.  The message is so quick, we had to use video capture to get the frame!

So, assuming the file is under version managment, we want to check in, but none of the toolbar options or right menu functions do anything?

* We are  certain we installed subversion during install and it exists in D:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\subversion

* Logged on as administrator and

* Lifecycle manage servicces are running in CMC >Servers

Hi Lee,

Please take the backup of "File Repository(Input FRS/Output FRS) & CMS & AUDIT Database" backup  before doing below points:

  • Restart the Physical Server where "SAP Business Objects Application" is Hosted.

Thanks,

Super thanks to Guruprasad Iyer with SAP support for identifying the problem!

The password-db = passwd entry was not uncommented and hence the

Version management application in BI 4.0 was thrown svn: Authorization error.

===Resolution Summary===

Refer to excellent note 1679073 which is for UNIX but also relevant for Window sx for manually recreating the directory and corrected the entry in the svnserv.conf file

Feeling much better about version management now in BI4 SP05 Patch 5
