Dear All,
We have ECC,BI,EP in our landscape with solman 7.0. Now we are planning to uninstall 7.0 and install solman 7.1 to avoid lot of upgrade issues.
My query is that do we need install any new DAA ( Solution Manager Diaognostic agent ) on any of our other landscape servers ECC,BI etc..
How to register our old systems ecc,bi in our new solman SLD.
Please advise.

Hi Letz,
If you have already running Solman with functionalities like RCA, EWA, Charm, System Monitoring i could suggest you go for Upgrade, instead fresh installation, Since RFC connection already there, no need to define again with new solman.
if you are not having any functionality activated in your old solman, then go for fresh installation, during installation SMD agent for solman automatically.
installed.
For other system, just register your old diag agents running on ECC system to the new solman system
follow direct registration method from here

But either of the case, managed system configuration is mandatory in solman_setup for connecting all your systems, Follow this.

After installing new Solution Manager 7.1 you need to start its configuration via solman_setup tcode. As part of its configuration you will have step "Managed System Configuration". It contains all required steps you need to perform to successfully connect managed system (ECC, BI, EP) to managing system (Solution Manager). One of these steps is Diagnostics Agent installation.
