I have dashboards in BO4 with BEx queries as the data source connected through the Query Browser. I'd like to open a dashboard using selected criteria from a source dashboard in the prompts in the Query Browser.
I have no prompts in the actual BEx queries, only in the Query analyzer. These are not set up through WEBI or anything else. I haven't been able to find any documentation that works on how to do this. Any help would be great.
Thanks
Hey Russell,
You can use portal data connection to pass a value from one provider dashboard to another consumer dashboard. Here is a document explaining how to achieve the same -

Hope this helps.

Hi Roopali,
Thanks for this. It is very helpful and has given me some new options. I was hoping to be able to open the other dashboard in a new window rather than having it be a parallel analytic on the same dashboard. Do you know of anything for that that?
Regardless, this gives me a new perspective on the project. Thank you.
Thanks
Russell
Hey Russell,
This is another link to explain the portal data connection -

This one might help in achieving what you want (two dashboards in different windows)
Hope this helps..

Hi Russell,
You can use portal data connection to pass a value from one dashboard to another dashboard.
Here you can pass value from provider dashboard to consumer dashboard where you want to pass value.
also you can pass value from dashboard to Webi Report and Crystal report as prompt values pass,
For that you have to use FS Command.
Thank You,
Haresh
