FI Manaul journal_PA segment char not validated against "fixed domain values"

Hi All,

We have a COPA char mapped from VBAP.

For the mapped data element, fixed domain values are maintained.

When PA segment is getting created at Sales order / Billing, data is getting validated againt the  domain values maintained.

But, during FI Manaul journal_PA segment char is not getting validated against "fixed domain values".

Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks & Regards,

Kalyan

Whether COPA character, is it simple or compound characteristic? Compound meaning characteristic like region depending on characteristic country. It is quite possible that all related depend values being derived for validation in SD documents but is missing in FI entry..

Hi Sudhakar,

Thanks for your reply.

Char derivation is from VBAP field and its simple derivation, not compound.

But, my issue is not with char derivation, but validation of the data that's entered into the character during manual journal.

For Instance :

I have COPA char WWABC with its data element "fixed domain values" as "01" / "02".

When PA segment is created during Sales order, if i enter any value apart from 01 / 02, std sap message stops me entering any value apart from those maintained in the dataelement domain.

But, at the time of manual journal the same check is not happening, i am not getting any error message even if i enter a value thats not in the domain.

Note: If a check table is maintained for the data element domain, then even at manual journal check is happening, but not when "fixed domain values" are maintained.

Thanks

Hi Kalyan,

I think the validation you put here is based on the table VBAP, as you mentioned. When you are posting manual FI entry, the values are not originating from VBAP, thus your validation is not kicked. Try to pass the entry with reference to a sale order/item and check if it works.
