Hi guys:

Is there any way to get printed a "label" or "tag" with the Basic Data of a material?

I need to get this label, which includes: material number, description, BUM, material group.

Please, if anybody knows... i will appreciate.

Thanks in advance

O Perea

I do not know any standard program in SAP that does it directly  for you.

I would download this info from MARA table  to Excel. And then use the mail merge function of MS Word to print labels

Hi Jürgen:

Thanks for your info, I really appreciate, but I have the idea that through a message class this is possible., do you get it?

Even, thanks again for your tie.

if you could describe the background for this requirement, maybe then it is becomes more clear.

Of course SAP can print labels when you do goods receipts (OMCF),  which has usually more info than just the basic info from material master. it may have info about the vendor, the batch and the Handling unit.

I never heard anything about message class that could do this (message classes are used for error messages), you probably mean message types.

Hi Jürgen... thank for you help, the requirement is  basically because the people in the warehouse and storages are using "labels" to identify on the shelfs and racks the location to the materials., as spare parts, packing materials & raw, etc.

There fore, the idea is to get this "label form" directly from our R/3.

Thanks again

ps: You right I mean, message types.

I actually assumed this case.

Like said, I dont know any transaction that can do it right away.

Have an ABAPer create a small program and Z transaction, where you enter a material number (or a range of material numbers), and the number of labels per material. I think an ABAPer can accomplish that in an hour.
