SAP Tablespace full Autoextend Yes - How to Know the space left?

Former Member

Dear All;

One of our production systems has the table space PSAPSID full 100% now as you can see in the screenshot:

But the auto extend is ON for this tablespace.

I do not know how much free space I have left for this table space. Shall I look at the Free (MB) column or Total Free Space (MB) column?

Best Regards

~Amal

Hi Amal,

You should check "Total Free Space (MB)" column, but be sure that the DB02 statistics are refreshed.

Dear Orkun;

Thank you for your reply. Since I have total free space 8,265.38 so this means that I am in the safe side, and I do not have to add data files. correct?

Best Regards

Hi Amal,

Whether to add datafile or not will depend , how much is the space required on daily basis.

Check the database growth to take a call.

This is so variable issue. You should calculate database growth size in montly basis, at least.

hi Amal,

Right now, highlighted Tablespace is used 88%. when it will be used 100% then you face the Overflow messages. so, You have to extend it before 100% used and you can extend the tablespace with the brtools utility, Please have a look the below link for help.
